Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I am a Ce-software engineer in the Display Processor Unit (DPU) team. My role is modifying a test suite for the DPU which tests aspects such as the display pipeline, AFBC decoding, scaling, etc.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I mainly worked on the project to extend some tests. However, I was also entrusted with implementing new features which will help future tests aswell as debugging.

I have learnt many skills to do with embedded systems. I have also greatly developed my skill using linux terminal, collaboration via gitlab, and general coding and debugging.

It was very good. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. There were always many social activities to take part in both at lunch and outside work.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I have really enjoyed my internship. Even though stressful at sometimes, that is what it'll always be like when working in industry the first time. Overall, I had a lot of fun.

What advice would you give to others applying to Arm
Don't stress too much about having to know everything. In the interviews, they know you are students so you aren't expected to be a master coder. If you do get the job, don't be stresses about learning everything you can before you start. They are very welcoming and understanding, as well as the point of the internship being to teach you new skills and improve those you already have
