Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
What you do greatly varies depending on what team you're apart of. I worked on next generation Arm technology writing low-level firmware, participating in the software development lifecycle and working day-to-day as a junior software engineer.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
As much as I could handle, with lots of support available whenever I should need it.

Plenty of support and guidance with weekly check ins. Many more meetings during the week with my wider team and it's incredibly easy to reach out and get support whenever.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Great culture, easy going but very dedicated and intelligent staff everywhere. Always something new to learn from someone about a variety of topics. Plenty of social events to get to know everyone during and after work.

What advice would you give to others applying to Arm
The interview is rigorous and technically challenging. Don't pretend to know stuff or bluff your way through, if you don't know be honest and explain that you might not know but this is how you might go about finding out how, or why. Be socialable, friendly and eager to learn. You're joining Arm to learn, not contribute production quality code from day 1 but if you can that's still great.
