Annual Manufacturing Placement Review

I was responsible for an experimental system that automatically detected line parameters and set them to an appropriate level for the incoming coil. I would check the performance of this system daily, look for ways to further optimise it and increase the output of the line. I would often give feedback about my work at meetings involving the management team.

Being in charge of a system which greatly affected the output of the production line, I was given far more responsibility than I was expecting, but I am glad to have been given as much responsibility as I was.

I greatly developed my excel competancy, as well as my communication and analytical skills. Being my first full-time job, I also gained alot of experience in terms of how a cell-unit operates, how to function as part of a team, and how to manage my workload effectively.

I recieved a great deal of guidance by shadowing and relying on senior members of staff. They were there to help whenever there was a concept or task I was struggling to understand.

I got along really well with the members of my cell unit, and would say the atmosphere was overall positive.

Overall I enjoyed my placement, and while somedays were better than others, I enjoyed the amount I was entrusted with. I feel as though I got alot out of it, and I am proud of the work I accomplished.
