Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at Savills?
I would describe my experience as positive. If you engage with the benefits of being 1 of a group of graduates you are able to learn more and understand and gain exposure to different parts of he business. Savills excels in its APC support through workshop and online meetings, in terms of broader company experience it is hard to comment without having a comparison, however I believe the rotation works well when comparing with other graduate schemes allowing more rotations.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
My main responsibilities involve assisting directors on instructions they receive and holding viewings, agency meetings, liaising with landlords and drafting up terms. I enjoy the leasing meetings with landlords and joint agents where i am exposed to wider market knowledge and can understand the reasons for the way we approach and deal with the task at hand.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

The reason for not having 5 stars is I feel sometimes you are stuck on one lane, and to gain exposure to other tass/work in the team can be hard. I also think there could be better communication with graduates, where if we are asked to help with a task the director/associate takes on the understanding that they need to converse with the graduates and spend the time running through what is needed.

How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I think the APC support is really strong and there is a large emphasis on providing as much support where needed. The day to day role is not as strong I often feel you can be left to figure out work and as a graduate you need to take it upon yourself to learn new skills and there is not much 1 to 1 support.

How is the support you receive?

I receive really good support from the graduates and apprentices around me, who have been the ones to help when joining a new team and who i go to for queries. Support from line managers/people I work with is not not strong with no regulars catch ups or guidance or checking in.
