Decent would give it a 7/10
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
- Quite a bit of responsibility talking to customers/ suppliers
- I enjoy the problem solving element of the role (which comes and goes)

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

Yeah not too bad. Work life balance is as good as it gets. Good pension. Food is very inexpensive on site can't complain honestly.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

It depends on where you want to take your future career. The company is huge and has so many different functions, Some of these functions are really specific meaning its hard to transfer your skills. While this isn't always the case, in my opinion its easy to get sucked into really specific work which is very important but lacks portability if you choose to pivot or chase a different career path.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I think I am developing a lot of new skills but I have had to push relatively hard to get to this stage. I think complacency here may leave you slightly less developed than you may want. But then again it does depend on the role and your preferences.

How is the support you receive?

My line manager is fantastic - team as well. Mentors are available who are lovely as well. Early careers team are lovely although it feel like sometimes they just don't have the answers which can be slightly frustrating.
How is your work-life balance?

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is objectively a good job especially in this job market/climate. If you are an engineer joining you veyr well could be disappointed/ underwhelmed by your work which is unfortunate. However, it is a flexible company. If you talk to the right people anything is possible.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

It is flexible, inclusive and a good environment to be in. I just don't feel like I was matched perfectly role-wise given my background.
When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
If you get into the grad scheme congratulations it is a good role. However the actual role you come into is out of your hands - hopefully its good.
