Overview of the Role
Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
Really enjoyable experience, lots of opportunity throughout the business and talent is often recognised and encouraged.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
Being able to be part of multiple engineering projects and being able to represent the company at outside events.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

I feel as though I am a full time employee, given real responsibility to work on interesting engineering tasks.
How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

I believe the base pay could be higher for the level of work I am currently completing, with no opportunity to come off the graduate scheme early to complete this. The share scheme and overtime however make up for this mostly.
How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

I get a lot of engagement with senior stakeholders, which I think is preparing myself very well for my future roles, however I have asked to gain more technical knowledge which hasn't been the case yet.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

Training is provided and encouraged for the role, and this learning has been very good for my development. I would however like further dedicated training for technical abilities.

How is the support you receive?

Support within my team has been very good, and I have been provided with lots of opportunity. The support from the early careers team however has been lacking and I feel as though if my team was not as good, then this would be a bigger problem.
How is your work-life balance?

Work life balance is good, workload currently is slightly higher than expected but it allows for more recognition. Flexi time aids in this work-life balance.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Stong safety culture, with lots of information and a no blame culture.
How would you rate BAE Systems initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

I have no complaints about this.

I am aware and believe the company does a lot for this, but think it could be advertised more.

Yes
Why?
Large company with many opportunities across the business. Good exposure to senior stakeholders and development will be up to the individual.

Wasn't too sure of what the role would entail, but I am working on new things most days which is very inspiring.
