Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Using Systems Engineering principles to work on the design and manufacturing stage of the lifecycle. Analysing stakeholder requirements and how they implement in design. Validating manufacturing through testing.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Been given walkthroughs of different software and lots of independence and responsibility with my work. I have a supportive team who are always happy to answer my questions.

I have learnt about manufacture testing, different types of stakeholder reviews, system engineering principles and system engineering software. I have developed my soft skills in communication and team work.

Lots of support and guidance. Immersion provided a good introduction to the company and my cohort. They let us know who we can talk to if we need help. My team is very supportive and always happy to walkthrough their work and provide me guidance.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I have enjoyed my placement. It has given me exposure to Systems Engineering and how I can apply what I have learnt to my university work, and to help make decisions on my future job prospects.
