Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

As a placement student, my role is to support the team in delivering a high‑quality service to our clients. My core responsibilities involve compiling dilapidation assessments and assisting with site inspections. I have had the opportunity to work on both the Gherkin and 20 Fenchurch St, completing and delivering lease advisory. I regularly review and analyse leases to understand our clients’ liabilities, then produce clear advice to deliver back to clients.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I had a lot of responsibility and autonomy, but I had support and supervision.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Very supportive and close guidance as I had not studied a real estate degree, so I needed to be taught key concepts and pieces of law.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

It was really exceptional. Everyone was very lovely and made me feel so welcome. My team made sure i was involved in lots of social events and also hosted welcome drinks, birthday drinks and leaving ones too. It was a really great atmosphere of working very hard but celebrating our wins.

What advice would you give to others applying to Savills

I would advise everyone to just take all the opportunities that Savills provides and really throw themselves into the placement. Be in the office and just listen to everyone work around you, as that's the quickest way to learn.
