Sandwich Placement Student Review

As a placement student, my role is to gain industry experience whilst supporting your team with daily operational tasks. During the year you will be involved in live projects and begin building technical, analytical and workplace skills alongside experienced colleagues. Day-to-day operations can include administrative tasks, project support, client interaction and market research.

I was given a large amount of responsibility. This covers managing my own projects and workstreams, being involved in strategic team discussions, presenting market research to my team, communicating with clients and collaborating with teams from around the business.

During the year I have taken existing skills from University and been able to develop these in a professional working environment. My communication, collaboration, problem-solving and organisational skills have vastly improved. Along with these, I have learnt new technical skills such as applications and analytical skills.

I have received a huge amount of support and guidance during the year. I have regular feedback meetings to ensure I am working on developing any areas of improvement whilst also identifying where my strengths are and how to continually build on these.

Savills places a large amount of importance on the culture of the workplace. I have built real relationships and connections with my team, colleagues and cohort allowing me to take these into my future career. The social opportunities are second to none and there is an area for all interests.

I cannot express how much I have enjoyed my placement year. It has been a hugely important factor in my personal and professional development. The opportunities and responsibilities I have had here have shown me why I enjoy Real Estate and the benefits that come with it.
