Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role comprised of assisting the Development and Valuation teams that I worked with, by way on carrying out different tasks on several client instructions, from Financial Viability Assessments to Property Portfolio Valuations.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good degree of responsibility within both of the teams I worked in, with all of my work forming part of live projects.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I learnt how to create GDV schedules for development proposals, how to use the RICS Comparable method to value properties and I also improved on my general Excel knowledege throughout the internship.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I received great amount of support and guidance throughout my internship, from being assigned a newly qualified mentor who was incredibly helpful and supportive, to having allocated senior line managers to also help support my experience and provide feedback.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The company culture and general atmosphere were both very welcoming and motivating. I truly felt the Savills values of listening, empowering, challenging and collaborating being exemplified by the people I worked with and met throughout the business.

Keep up to date with the Savills research pages and new initiatives, as the business and industry can be quite fast paced at times with new developments and opportunities. Also reach out to people already at the business to ask about their experiences and for their advice, as I've found that they are very happy to help!
