Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

During my summer scheme, my role involved supporting the team with a variety of day-to-day tasks while developing my understanding of how the organisation operates. I worked alongside colleagues, attended meetings, conducted research, and assisted with ongoing work and projects. My daily responsibilities varied depending on the team’s priorities, but I was expected to manage assigned tasks, communicate effectively, ask questions when necessary, and complete my work to a professional standard. I also received regular guidance and feedback, which helped me develop my skills and gain valuable experience in a professional environment.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given a good level of responsibility during my placement. Although support was available when needed, I was trusted to take ownership of tasks, manage my time, and complete work independently. I was also expected to meet deadlines, provide updates on my progress, and contribute during meetings and team discussions. This balance of independence and guidance helped me become more confident and made me feel that I was making a meaningful contribution to the team.
