Summer Scheme Student Review

I was in the Strategic Consulting team within GOS, Which meant i was looking at the more analytical side of property, understanding the "why" property portfolios are the way they are- from commute analysis, to location analysis and strategy, to understand property portfolios as a whole. I was using QGIS, Excel and Smartsheet, alongside lots of teams calls to meet clients and colleagues alike.

Enough to make me feel like what I was doing was worth while! I felt pushed out of my comfort zone as was editing live real documents and making decks that would be shown directly to clients, but was supervised enough that i never got over stressed.

Absolutely! Confidence when speaking in a meeting is certainly one, then my technical skills have been developed. Whilst i have been on ArcGIS before, using QGIS is different, as with excel, and has been a sharp learning curve but i have enjoyed being pushed. I have also learn't lots of terminology that i did not know prior and feel much more comfortable with property terminology.

I had an excellent mentor who got me started on tasks and was always there to help. My team is also very friendly as is my line manager who despite being busy was always happy to chat!

Atmosphere was very friendly, everyone is here to help and wants you to do well which i find inspiring. I am very proud to have been part of the company for 6 weeks.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and am very sad my time has come to an end. I have learnt so much from the team and being in a buzzing atmosphere, it has definitely solidified my interest in the industry and the desire to develop a career from it.
