Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

During the internship, I have been given numerous roles of responsibility such as producing availability reports for numerous types of clients; helped draft heads of terms; inputted Oxford Agents' availability and deals into Q2 Stats spreadsheets; and attended many meetings, viewings, and tours at a wide array of sites, with all sorts of clients and fellow agents, as well as the team i have been in.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was given an abundance of responsibilities (as mentioned above), more than I had originally expected to be trusted with before joining, which has been beyond valuable for gaining experience and exposure to a breadth of aspects of the Commercial Real Estate industry.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt how to write reports, and heads of terms; how to analyze data and extract relevant information; my Excel and PowerPoint skills have been extensively developed; and my client-facing interaction confidence has been strongly developed - I am now much more able to contribute during meetings, viewings, and site visits etc.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I couldn't have asked for more when it came to the support and guidance that I have received during my time at Savills. The head of my team, as well as the graduate, have both taken me under their wings in helping me work closely with them on select projects, where they have given me lots of work to do to help towards those certain jobs. They quickly made sure that I felt comfortable asking as many questions as i need to, and when i do ask, I am always met with detailed help/answers.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Inclusive and collaborative. From day one, everyone I have crossed in the office has been very friendly and happy to stop for a chat. I have organized multiple coffee's with people in different teams in the office who have kindly taken time out of their day to give me an overview of what it is that they, and their team, cover day-to-day. I am also taking part in a cricket match for the Savills Oxford team which I am looking forward to.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I enjoyed my internship to a great extent, it surpassed my already high expectations. From the quantity and level of work I was given, to the atmosphere in the team and office, I couldn't have asked for much more - it has been an opportunity which I am very grateful to have been given. This has been a working environment which I could definitely see myself working in.
