Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I worked within the property management portfolio team. Looking after eclectic list of properties in different funds, liaising with tenants about rent and service charge, which working with the client to ensure the smooth operation of the buildings.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Extensive responsibility being client facing and trusted in contacting tenants on topics such as arrears, service charge and issues they may be facing with their unit

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

Have advanced my skills in arears such as excel and formatting and tone in emails which are being received by clients and tenants. Learnt to work within a team of people from different backgrounds and ages. Learnt the fundamentals of the property management world such as modelling service charge caps or insurance recharges.

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

Lots of support. Introduced to head of team and personal mentor within the team on first day. Constant contact between the HR team and all the interns to ensure a smooth, enjoyable and informative time.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Fostered learning and relationship building. I became close with the other interns and a variety of people within and around my team, ensuring an enjoyable work enviroment.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed the entire placement as I was surrounded by so many differing people whom all share a common goal. I was championed to learn and to build relationships with those around me. The constant teaching and exposure to work from people within my team means I have acquired an extensive amount of knowledge since begging the internship.
