Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was an assistant rural surveyor supporting the rural and projects teams on all aspects of estate management, valuation, mapping and other works included in supporting the team. Involved a lot of desktop based research and work with occasional site visits and days out with various team members

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

A massive amount of responsibility. Once the team had confirmed where my comfort zone was I was left to get on with most tasks by myself. Where I was given work outside of my normal zone I was supported where needed but mostly left to get on with it.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship and the 6 weeks flew by. It really felt like I was part of the team, included into high level work and trusted to be a 'surveyor' not just an intern.
