Level Up with WTW programme Review

The Level Up with WTW Insight Programme was a two-day virtual insight programme focused on introducing participants to WTW, its early careers opportunities and the skills needed in a professional environment. On the first day, we had a welcome session with the Early Careers team, a leadership keynote, employability modules and an interactive problem-solving session. We also took part in networking activities, heard from former Level Up candidates about their experiences and joined a social activity with other participants. On the second day, the programme focused more on client and career development skills. This included a client excellence session covering active and empathetic listening, interview preparation using the STAR method, a personal branding session with WTW colleagues and a mini careers fair where we learned about different lines of business across the company.

Understanding the business and the potential roles available was really useful because it showed me how broad WTW is and how many different career paths there are within the company. The mini careers fair was especially helpful, as it gave me exposure to different lines of business and helped me understand what colleagues do on a day-to-day basis. It also gave me a clearer idea of which areas I might want to explore further in the future. Hearing from WTW colleagues and former Level Up candidates made the roles feel more realistic and gave me a better understanding of the skills, behaviours and mindset needed to succeed at the company.

Yes, I developed several skills during the programme. The problem-solving module helped me think more clearly about how to approach challenges in a structured way, while the client excellence session helped me better understand the importance of active and empathetic listening when working with clients. I also improved my networking skills through the networking activities and panel sessions, as these gave me the chance to learn how to build professional connections and ask useful questions. The interview preparation session was also helpful, as it showed me how to use the STAR method to give clearer and more structured answers in future applications and interviews.

The company culture and general atmosphere came across as welcoming, supportive and people-focused. The sessions felt friendly and interactive rather than overly formal, which made it easier to ask questions and engage with the programme. I also got the impression that WTW values development, communication and building professional relationships, especially through the networking activities, panel with former Level Up candidates and sessions with colleagues from different lines of business. Overall, the atmosphere felt collaborative and encouraging, with a strong focus on helping early careers candidates understand the business and grow their confidence.
