Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Supporting the introduction of a new product through tooling, process development and problem solving. Lots of cross-functional collaboration with design teams, operations and other manufacturing engineers.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Lots. I was able to autonomously make decisions and lead the 3D printing operations. For a time I was the focal for tooling, and some process steps.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?
Plenty of hard and soft skills. Understanding of new software and about composite manufacturing. Also, techniques for structured problem solving. Soft skills include dynamic prioritisation and intense long term scheduling.
