Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?

BAE Systems Rochester gives a great starting opportunity for a career in engineering, providing lots of involvement in cutting edge technology and allowing oneself to make crucial, project-related decisions that have lasting impacts both on the business and customers. They provide lots of room for improvement and growth, in both technical skills and inter-personal skills.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

Hardware engineering on multiple projects for global customers, it involved a great blend of hands-on work and computer related work.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

My line manager provides lots of support and opportunities for learning, going through my engineering competencies that align with IET competencies.

How is your work-life balance?

It's great, I think BAE provides enough balance between work and life, however I can see this being more difficult in a higher position with more responsibilities.

What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

There is a mandated 4-days on-site a week policy, but I think this should be dropped to 3-days a week.

How would you rate BAE Systems initiatives when it comes to equality, diversity, inclusion and accessibility?

BAE Systems Rochester hosts a Women in Rochester Engineering (WiRE) group that promotes females in the engineering field, which I think is great.
