Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I was involved in a lot of valuation and accounting work as well as individual member calculations. These was a great mix of work to give me a vast experience in the pensions industry.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was treated as if I was a new worker to the business and responsibility was a huge part of the role. Ensuring deadlines are met for your clients was part of the job.

From the very beginning you are given a 'Buddy' who helps with the initial onboarding and to answer any general questions. In terms of client work, there is always another person on the client that can help you.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

The atmosphere is incredible. There is a big emphasis and focus on ensuring there is at least one social event a month. This is to help break down the barriers between those who have just started in the company and those higher up. These events were definitely a highlight in my placement year.

I really enjoyed my placement. It gave me an insight into how busy the pensions industry can be at times. I've also made some really amazing friends here.
