Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
Thoroughly enjoyed my time so far, dynamic work environment and enjoy the role I'm in.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
I'm responsible for carrying out installation checks for the equipment within our scope and also developing software packages for monitoring systems. I enjoy the hardware aspect the most, hands on and learnt a lot from these processes.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

The company flex scheme is one of the main benefits, we can stay within our expected hours per week and any extra can be claimed back giving me security in my work life balance. Feel valued as an employee here by having the ability to use this

My team all have very distinct roles where I am working among different ones. Not overly clear on progression routes but know there will be work for me

Why?
Strong sense of belonging in the team and the wider workplace. So much support available from mental health first aiders, mentors and even as far as occupational health, really well looked after and such an interesting and challenging job.
How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Make sure you are well prepared for interview questions it takes a lot of the pressure off that final interview and ask as much as you need to along the way to better your own understanding. Do your research on current projects and have the ability to apply your knowledge from your degree to technical questions. Be honest about your strengths, weaknesses and interests in your area, I feel that the team i was allocated to aligned with the projects and strengths I spoke about in my discipline.
