Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
Positive, and able to get involved in work that I feel is meaningful, and get to progress in the career direction I want to go towards with support
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
For the current client, I am conducting security analysis, response to cybersecurity incidents, security advisory, help with implementing improvements of internal processes/playbooks/documentation with security in mind, and more.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

At the client there has been many opportunities to get involved with the day to day work, do On call shifts (taking up more responsibilities), and also other areas of work within the client that wouldnt typically sit with a SOC Analyst - facilitating many learning opportunities (e.g SOC Engineering). The account team is also great and always recognise the work their colleagues do for their clients.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

The account team managed to get my current role following my preference that I stated after finishing my last internship, and they delivered. This role they got me has been a very good contribution to my future prospects and career goals in the area of Cybersecurity (Blue teaming/Red teaming related roles such as SOC, IR, etc)
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

I have learnt more through the day to day work specific to my role, but the initial training was very helpful to get onboarded and understand the processes of the client's SOC procedures, playbooks and processes.
