Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?
My experience at BAe Systems is extremely beneficia t my professional development. The company has a supportive culture, with everyone being willing to help. The support offered through employee assistance programmes solidifies how the company treat their employees. The graduate scheme is challenging but you are provided with the tools to get the support you need.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
shadowing senior colleagues, orderbook management, supplier engagement, data analysis ... The elements of the role i enjoy the most are supplier management and engagement.
To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

Dependent on the work package provided but as you gain more experience you naturally are given more responsibility which in turn makes you feel more valued.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

The role encourages me to understand all areas of procurement by exposing me to the different elements involved (pre contract and post contract) as well as how to work with ERP systems.
How would you rate the extent to which you were developing new or existing skills through formal training and your day-to-day role?

No previous background in procurement so learning new skills everyday.

How is the support you receive?

I have a supportive line manager, access to mentors and buddies who are always happy to help in terms of career advise or work queries. Something missing is mandated contact with these, often time runs away and therefore contact with mentors and buddies becomes minimal.
How is your work-life balance?

Flexi-time enables time for personal commitments and ensure you never overwork with no benefit. The cap on Flexi-time also ensures you don't burn out.
What is the organisational culture, values and general atmosphere like?

Welcoming and supportive structure. Hybrid policies mean that sometime sit is difficult to have face to face contact with the whole team.
