Overview of the Role

Overall, how would you describe your experience at BAE Systems?

Positive, lots of opportunities for development and support from within the business. At times found the work could be more challenging relative to my academic background/qualifications.

What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?

Technical analysis, communicating and discussing complex problems.

To what extent does your role give you the opportunity to contribute meaningfully and feel valued by your team?

3/5
Lots of the work is completed individually in my role, so the effect and value to the overall team is sometimes difficult to gauge. However, there are times when you feel that contributions have been meaningful and are valued by the team.

How does your compensation package - including perks & benefits - fairly remunerate you for the work you do?

4/5
Flexi time, brand discounts are most valuable currently. In the future, I can see the perks and benefits being much more valuable, e.g. life insurance and medical insurance.

How well do you feel the role is preparing you for your future career?

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BAE Systems to a friend?

Yes

Why?

It as a massive organisation and so the opportunities to move around within the business are excellent. You get to work on complex and cutting edge technology, and the work has a noticeable impact on the defence of the UK, which is rewarding.

How well did the role match your expectations based on the recruitment process?

2/5
Applications were to very broad areas, so the actual role you get assigned could vary significantly. There was little to no input taken on which roles would be preferred, so while expecting a more exciting role, I personally was assigned a less desirable role.

When considering the recruitment & onboarding process, have you any specific tips or advice you would give to others applying to BAE Systems?

To link past experiences to the company values, and prepare using the answers to interview questions using the STAR structure.
