My role consisted of primarily working with FPGAs and using VHDL.

You have lots of access to support and guidance including being allocated a buddy when you start your placement/graduate scheme. The buddy will typically be someone already on the graduate scheme. You also have frequent contact with your line manager to ask for any support or guidance.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Incredibly friendly workplace. Lots of apprentices/undergraduates and graduates so a really nice experience and great community to be a part of.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my year-in-industry placement. There were loads of opportunities to learn lots of new things and immerse yourself into what BAE do. It is also really nice that we are allowed to visit local schools and universities to promote STEM and speak to students about our experiences. Overall a really great experience.
