Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Expired Document Recovery- Collecting and verifying Insurance Docs and Accreditation Certificates, maintaining centralised records of these and managing returns.
Sub Tier Mapping- Collecting information from our Key Suppliers on their supply chain, performing financial fragility assessments, regional risk analysis and denied party screening to background check sub tier suppliers. Maintaining a master data sheet with all information in a single point of truth style document, preparing information for upload to the MOD. Creating a visualisation document to better understand entity relationships.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, managing my own project entirely as well as collaborative projects, reporting mechanisms, hosting meetings, presenting at annual conferences and so on.

What advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems
Do your research before applying, understand the particular business unit you are applying for (Air, Naval Ships, Subs, Etc) in order to;
A) understand the product you will be working on
B) understand the job security aspects (i.e. Naval Ships has work booked until the 2050s)
C) Understand the implications of working for such a business unit
Ensure you are prepared to answer questions related to the job- they are high level, but it is good to have quick, correct, concise answers for the interview.
Ask Questions, be interested, be polite.
