Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
I had an excellent experience throughout the Howden Spring Insight Week and appreciated how well organised and engaging the programme was from start to finish.
From Day 1, meeting the staff at Howden, fellow Top 40 students, and hearing from senior leaders at Howden made the experience feel inspiring and personal.
A highlight for me was the opportunity to explore different areas of the company through interactive activities & conversations with professionals across multiple areas of Howden. The panel Q&A with senior staff was valuable, as it gave us an honest insight into different career journeys and the industry itself.
The early careers team and all the staff at Howden were approachable and helpful at all times and I appreciated the effort put into making students feel comfortable and supported throughout the week. Howden ensured everyone was well looked after with great breakfast, lunch & dinner options.
On day 3, we visited Lloyd’s of London and met with underwriters and specialists who supported us during our presentation activity. Presenting in front of professionals in Lloyds, was rewarding and helped me build my confidence significantly.
A special mention from Bella and Jo who provided me with positive feedback about my participation throughout the week which made the experience even more meaningful.
Overall, the insight week was engaging, professional, and impactful. I left the week with a much stronger understanding of the insurance industry at Howden, valuable new connections, and greater confidence in myself professionally. I am grateful for the opportunity and appreciate all the effort that went into making the experience so memorable.

Understanding the different areas of the business and potential roles was a valuable part of the insight week. It helped me realise how broad the insurance industry is and how many different career paths exist within Howden.
