Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, but nothing more than was appropriate. Everything I did was thoroughly taught to me beforehand by Analysts.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
Lazard has a very fun and exciting atmosphere. They seem to hire great people, so everyone was very friendly and willing to include the interns in work and activities whenever possible.
