Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked in Aerospace sales team. Project management role on app development project with key customer. Produced key strategic documents after collecting market information. Representing company at industry events. Learning the account management and sales process. Involved in restructuring of internal team and wider Siemens UK strategy for industry.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Was given responsibility within the team to act independently on numerous occasions. One example being the project manager role, where I had autonomy to lead a development project with customers. Similarly acting as sole company representative at a number of industry events. Entrusted as an independent member of the team

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

My team manager provided mentoring, shadowing and regular updates across my internship. Also ensured I went on many trips, introduced me to colleagues and industry peers and didn’t hide me from ‘real work’. Similarly my line manager and department head regularly gave one to one’s, in addition to support from a mentor.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Felt part of the team very early on, everyone is friendly and willing to help. My manager went out of his way to make me feel included and involved me at every opportunity.
