Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

4/5
To assist project engineers with tasks to ensure projects are to the required quality and safety standards and adhere to project timescales. I assist the Project Engineering Managers within managing engineering packages of work and tracking deliverables. I manage client responses to technical queries and requests for information, and discuss with the Contract Engineering Manager whether the response is a change of scope and if it will delay our program or have a cost implication to the project.

Skills I have learned so far during my apprenticeship include thinking independently and double-checking information to ensure its accuracy. I have developed my confidence and social skills by being in a corporate environment and participating in meetings with both colleagues and clients. I have improved my technical knowledge of the railway and signalling through training courses. Additionally, I have developed my Excel skills by creating numerous spreadsheets to track project deliverables.
