At first I was placed on service desk which has been a great experience so far to develop my skills for when I transition into a new role. I provide technical support to users which included managing tickets taking calls, troubleshooting any software / hardware issues users may have and escalating incidents to the appropriate teams.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do enjoy the DXC degree apprenticeship program, service desk wasn't where I wanted to go originally however will be a great experience to help support me in moving to a new role. DXC have given great opportunities and experiences to help my professional development like gaining certifications. DXC have supported me throughout my degree during the apprenticeship with course work, deadlines and anything else I have needed support with.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

DXC have provided me with many opportunities to develop my skills, I recently gained a certification in python programming PCAP - Python certified associate programmer. I have also had opportunities to work in extracurricular projects outside my business as usual work to help develop teamworking, leadership and communication skills alongside developing technical skills like programming / development.

The program has been well structured so far. I am always aware of my responsibilities and how the program progresses and the different support networks available to me if I need them.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Whenever I have needed help or had a question about anything the managers have always been extremely helpful.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has always helped with anything I need, however can be difficult to get in contact with sometimes.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I do feel that my qualification is helping me with my role as lots of the training is applicable in many aspects of my day to day job and extra projects I get involved in. And overall helps me improve my IT / technical skills while also improving communication and teamworking skills during group tasks.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

DXC provides a wide range of extra-curricular activities to get involved with. Some examples are knowledge sharing sessions, in office networking events and many more.
