Overall, how would you describe your experience at Mercer & Hole?
My experience at Mercer & Hole has been very positive. The firm offers a supportive and professional environment, with strong opportunities for learning and development. I’ve particularly valued the collaborative culture and the exposure to diverse and interesting client work.
What are the main responsibilities of the role and which elements of the role do you enjoy the most?
As a Tax Graduate in the Trusts and Private Client department, my main responsibilities include preparing tax returns for individuals, trusts, and estates, as well as assisting with tax computations and compliance work. I also support senior team members with client queries, help gather and review financial information, and ensure that submissions are completed accurately and in line with HMRC requirements.
I enjoy the variety within the role, particularly working across different types of clients and circumstances, which keeps the work interesting and helps build a broad understanding of personal and trust taxation. I also find it rewarding to develop my technical knowledge and apply it in practice. Additionally, I value the collaborative nature of the team and the opportunity to gradually take on more responsibility as my confidence grows.
