In my role as an Assistant Housing Apprentice, my day‑to‑day work involves supporting the Housing team with the delivery of effective and customer‑focused housing services. This includes responding to tenant enquiries, logging repairs and service requests, updating tenancy records, and preparing routine correspondence while ensuring information is accurate and confidential. I assist housing officers with administrative tasks, tenancy sustainment work, and coordination of appointments, while escalating any urgent, safeguarding, or complex issues appropriately. Alongside operational duties, I actively develop my knowledge by completing apprenticeship learning, attending training and team meetings, and applying housing policies and procedures to support tenants and maintain high service standards.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am really enjoying my role here, i like the mix of on the job training and study. I have the opportunity to comfortably fit them all in together.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have gained new skills in customer service and communication, accurate use of housing IT systems, understanding housing policies and procedures, managing and prioritising tasks, and recognising when to escalate safeguarding or complex issues appropriate to my role.

I receive excellent support from my employer .
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Training provider is always available if i need advice or assistance, however due to the distance from the other apprentices I sometimes miss being able to be in a face to face learning environment.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It gives me great exposure to subjects that i wouldn't necessarily have thought would be useful to me.
