Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I really enjoy my job role as an apprentice dental nurse. Day-to-day I set up the surgery, we see patients for a range of treatments and I study alongside. I work with a great group of people and have lots of resources if I need help with my learning.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I do really enjoy my apprenticeship from DDS. The pay rate is low for the area as an apprentice dental nurse but that will soon go up for me soon.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I feel that I learn new skills every day in relation to dental, and people skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship from DDS's side is well structured, however from Poultice there are challenges. I think that the disconnect from Poultice and the DDS company can cause mis-communication and it can be difficult to have questions answered by poultec as they're not in the building to approach.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Our new manager has been very supportive as well as the head nurse carrie.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I think that Poultec has been supportive at times, but it's difficult to get into contact sometimes and I think the apprentices have all had their own individual issues with poultec. When I started there was confusion over the contract I've signed and the duration but it has been sorted overtime.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think that the qualification will help me perform in my role and help me progress into the future.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
