Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am in the academy which is the learning hub before going on site. I work through different tasks to learn skills and knowledge to help me do the job better when I go out on site.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It's good but hard to keep yourself going. At the moment it is very reliant on you to keep going and working though booklets of work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt a lot about electronics and circuits and switching.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
It is a little unclear how the whole thing works. Especially when you're on site, you don't really know where you are or which placement you are going next and what evidence you will be getting there.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
If you ask, you will get some support but if you don't you are left to your own devices.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
We go to college but they aren't very good at teaching. At work we get support if we ask and the trainers are available.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It will be very good. I will know a lot o things that I can put into practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
There are no extra curricular activities that I know of

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend AWE to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a good place to be and work. There seems to be a lot of opportunities especially in the future and the pay is good.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to AWE?
It is a long process, but it is worth it. It can be stressful. It's a good place to work though. Just make sure you follow the rules.
