Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
While completing my apprenticeship I complete four different trades. This involves a number of maintenance tasks that enable me to prove competence and collate all knowledge learned throughout each trade. This learning is supported by a Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing. I attend college once a week.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
Although I am only 8 months into my apprenticeship course I am really enjoying both my in academy work and my college course.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
As I started the apprenticeship with very little practical knowledge, I feel the course has excelled in enabling me to learn new skills. By completing my Level 3 at college I also feel that I have been able to progress with the academic side of my learning.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
When completing each trade I have a clear overview of all of the tasks that I need to complete as well as the standard that I need to complete the to. Although there is an organised structure optional tasks such as 3D printing and designing circuit enclosures allow individuals aiming to exceed to be stretched and progress additional skills that are not directly on the specification.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have a range of support systems within the academy (My current placement). These include my training managers that oversee and support my practical training, my line manager who checks in once a month and supports with looking at future opportunities for me, pastoral support which provides me with an independent person to raise any challenges with the apprenticeship and neurodiversity support which aids in implementing reasonable adjustments in the work place.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My training managers give me a high level of support when completing my apprenticeship. We have college support that helps support the academic side of the apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I think that my employer allows me to perform to my best as I have constant support with all areas of my course.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
We have networking events and career development seminars. Additionally I have had the opportunity to support new apprentices and have attended the Southern Manufacturing Show.
