I have really enjoyed working at ASDA, as it offers a supportive and positive working environment. The atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, which makes coming to work enjoyable each day. The managers are very approachable and always willing to help whenever support is needed.
My mentor played a key role in my development, offering consistent guidance and encouragement throughout my apprenticeship. With their support, I was able to build my confidence, develop new skills, and grow into my role as a key colleague. Overall, my experience at ASDA has been extremely rewarding and has helped me progress both personally and professionally.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoyed my apprenticeship, as it gave me valuable learning opportunities and hands-on experience. Throughout the programme, I developed greater confidence and gained a range of new skills that have supported my personal and professional growth.
The apprenticeship helped me improve my interpersonal skills and expand my knowledge, which has enabled me to carry out my duties more effectively and confidently. It has been a very rewarding experience, and I am proud to have successfully achieved a recognised qualification as part of it.

Through my apprenticeship, I learned a wide range of practical and professional skills that have helped me grow both personally and at work. I gained valuable hands‑on experience and developed a better understanding of my role and responsibilities.
I built confidence in myself and in my ability to complete tasks independently and as part of a team. The apprenticeship helped me improve my communication and interpersonal skills, enabling me to work more effectively with colleagues, managers, and customers.
I also developed key workplace skills such as time management, problem‑solving, and the ability to adapt to different situations. Alongside this, I increased my knowledge of workplace procedures and standards, which helped me carry out my duties to a higher level.
Overall, the apprenticeship supported my personal development, strengthened my professional skills, and allowed me to achieve a recognised qualification, which I am very proud of.

My programme was well organised and clearly structured throughout the apprenticeship. The learning objectives were explained well, and I always understood what was expected of me at each stage of the programme.
The balance between on‑the‑job training and off‑the‑job learning was well planned, which helped me apply what I learned in practice. Support from my mentor, managers, and training provider was consistent, and regular reviews helped me track my progress and stay motivated.
Overall, the programme was structured in a way that supported my development, built my confidence, and allowed me to complete my apprenticeship successfully.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Regular check‑ins and progress reviews help me stay on track and understand what I need to improve. Whenever I have questions or need extra support, my training provider is approachable and responds promptly.
They also offer useful feedback, learning resources, and encouragement, which has helped me build confidence and successfully work towards completing my qualification.

Overall, ASDA is a great place to work and grow professionally.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to ASDA?

I would advise others applying to ASDA to be positive, hardworking, and open to learning. Showing a good attitude and willingness to work as part of a team is very important.
Be confident but honest during the application process, and don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help once you start. Taking feedback seriously and being eager to develop new skills will really help you succeed.
