Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Work on a project under a mentorship of full-time software engineer. Learn more about the company and connect with employees and other interns. Learn ins and outs of Engineering team's daily activities

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

I was fully responsible for my project, could control every aspect of it. I could also modify boards in jira and my opinion was valued during the team meetings. My project was creating valuable feature that was presented to the clients and product managers.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I've learnt how to write production-level code in C++, what are agile practices team uses, and developed more communication and collaboration skills. I've also learnt about deployment stages and how the processes can be automated.

I have been working in a very pleasant environment where I could reach out for guidance to anyone. I also had daily 1-2-1 with my mentor and regular 1-2-1 with team members. Even outside of the team I received much support and help

The internship was an enjoyable experience in many ways, I've been able to learn more about the country, city, company, experience their culture and make valuable connections.
