Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am a Service Desk Apprentice working on leveraged accounts. On a day‑to‑day basis, I provide first‑line technical support to users, acting as the first point of contact for IT issues and service requests. This includes logging and managing tickets, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving account and access problems, and escalating more complex incidents where required. I also focus on delivering good customer service, meeting SLAs, and learning from more experienced team members to build my technical knowledge and problem‑solving skills.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme as it gives me the opportunity to learn a wide range of troubleshooting methods and gain hands‑on experience with aspects of computers that are often overlooked. It’s been rewarding to develop a deeper understanding of how systems work while building practical skills.

My training provider is very understanding and always making the time whenever we are looking for help towards the qualifications.

I feel that my qualification supports me greatly in my role, as the training is directly related to the work I do day to day. It helps me apply what I’m learning in real situations, improves my understanding of IT concepts, and enables me to perform my role more confidently and effectively.

In my work there are lots of networking events and activities that happen throughout the workplace. They allow us to communicate and build work friendships.

Why?

A very welcoming and friendly company. There is help/support everywhere you look so that you are never alone and there is always someone to reach out to. The progression through the apprenticeship course is great for anyone interested in IT.

Go for it. DXC welcomes anyone with open arms. It is a company that can help anyone progress to where they want to be.
