During my apprenticeship, I developed a wide range of new skills. These included managing large process improvement projects and gaining numerous technical skills such as programming in Python (Pandas), SQL, statistical data analysis, data visualisation, and mathematics for data science. I also learned about the importance of data privacy, ethics, and regulatory requirements. In addition, I took part in a two-day hackathon and created a portfolio documenting five completed projects.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Royal Mail Group to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Royal Mail demonstrates a strong commitment to personal development, and I am grateful for the opportunity and the dedicated time I was given to complete my apprenticeship.

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Royal Mail Group?

Although I thoroughly enjoyed the apprenticeship and gained a great deal from it, I found it challenging at times as my current role does not involve data analysis, which made it difficult to fully meet some of the course requirements. My recommendation would be to ensure that role alignment is carefully considered before starting an apprenticeship.
