In my role I focus on labelling and dispensing medication. Making sure it is correct and safe to go to the patient.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

So far it has been very enjoyable. It has been interesting, engaging and exciting learning new things.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes I have definitely learnt new skills from being here. I have learnt them through college as well as through working in the hospital and dispensary. I have learnt how important patient safety is as well as loads about medications and what they do.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is very organised, although I would say one thing that could be improved would be to be able to have our own working work laptops. This is because we only have a small amount of these laptops and most of them aren't working that well.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive the best support from both my employers and colleagues. Everyone here is so kind and helpful. If I am ever stuck I know that I am in safe hands to ask for help or advice.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive all the support I could ask for. Everyone reply's so quickly whenever I have a question or a concern and they are all very nice and understanding.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I think this helps me perform better at work because it is giving me a deeper understanding that maybe I couldn't get at work as I would be working.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes there are lots of different things such as yoga, mental health clubs, standing up ambassadors etc!

Why?

It is such a lovely environment to work in, it is so diverse and everyone here is so lovely and helpful. I couldn't think of anything worse than waking up and not wanting to go to work but with working at the Royal Berkshire Hospital it isn't like that at all for me
