Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Undergoing various jobs throughout the day such as taking wires for pipes, fitting pipes, removing pipes. Working with valves and installing clips to aid these applications. I also complete preparation tasks such as brazing, cleaning and preparing, cutting and many other activities.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme and the work i do. I also like the ratio of bookwork to work on the job.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt a wide array of skills such as those required for the job: brazing, fitting, mathematical formulae and many other small tricks to help me along the way.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The most part is extremely easy for me to run myself i have to actively be where i need to be to complete the work and learning i need however some courses overlap, get cancelled and are sometimes made difficult booking wise.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

If i ever have concerns i have full confidence in my employer to help me with them.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

If i need support i am given it without hesitation.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The level of information I learn through my qualification makes me extremely confident in myself when i partake in the job itself.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Sometimes there may be networking events but i am so focused on the job itself to get involved.

Why?
The involvement in the trade so early on is amazing and the path i have toward my goal is very clear and concise. I like the people i work with and i feel i can get help with anything when i need it.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BAE Systems?
Ensure you are picking a role you are certain you will enjoy. Do your research into the role and what you can be doing within a few years.
