Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

This role involves good organisation, positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow both personally and in your career. You will be field based and travel across to different Sites which have our Blood analyzers, learning how to fix and maintain these machines and build your network and personal development. Therefore helping patients in the UK and across the Globe.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I personally think this programme is incredible and provides such a good foundation into engineering and allows me to grow at the rate that works best for me. There is never any expectation to rush this apprenticeship, Roche provide great time and resources into making the Apprentices feel appreciated and valued. For me i couldn't recommend this apprenticeship more and I thoroughly enjoy it.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt many new skills such as; Customer service, collaborative work, networking. Developed skills such as; organisation, multi-tasking, working under pressure.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

My programme is very well organised, there is a clear structure throughout the apprenticeship to get you to your end goal and reach a qualification, as well as a job by the end of your apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive great support from my employer, people are always happy to help and its a very positive work environment which makes you feel determined to work to the best of your abilities, every time i have needed help i have received it straight away no matter if its an individual or a whole team. I know my employer is always there behind me to help so its a massive positive about the company.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support, we have catch-ups every 3 months with my manager and my training provider to ensure i am on the right tracks and they are always there if i fall behind. They also communicate everything really well and makes earning my qualification easier thanks to their support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification gives me a better understanding every day through simple understandings of how; Mechanical, Electrical and technology work. Which helps me perform better in my role because i have a better understanding of different systems being used.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

I play for the football team, which provides exciting tournaments each year and is great chance to network and talk to people from the company you wouldn't normally interact with on a day-to-day basis.

Why?
My experience has been fully positive, i really enjoy my apprenticeship and have enjoyed how it has made me grow both in my early career and my personal life too. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone interested in this type of industry and career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Roche?
Be confident about wanting to work at Roche, have a desire and willingness to learn new skills and meet new people, don't forget to be yourself and tell them about yourself and why you would be a perfect fit!
