Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have developed a number of different skills. Every visit there are new skills to pick up as every site visit can be different.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The program is highly structured: the first year combines one day of college with mentored shadowing to build foundational equipment skills. In the second year, this format continues, but introduces independent tasks at a pace dictated by the trainee’s demonstrated technical proficiency. Further years involve more independent work, receiving different opportunities to learn and continuing college studies.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I have regular check ins with my manager to discuss any issues, needs, successes or goals. I am always provided with a guidance or direction to seek further information. Manager and my colleagues are always contactable. Extra study days are available to enable apprentices to deliver course work to a good standard and on time.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
Training provider is very supportive when required.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
In the early years of the college some of the skills are transferrable to my role such as gaining confidence in using various tools and equipment.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

4/5
Company holds annual gala meeting for UK employees, get together event at the head office and regional meetings & socialising. Company also participates in selected charity event where employees are welcome to join.
