Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am currently working towards completing my supply chain apprenticeship. I am in Procurement where we are speaking to suppliers, raising orders, pricing and learning through allocated apprenticeship days all about the supply chain role.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I am on my second placement of four. I am thoroughly enjoying the program. There is a great balance between learning the areas needed to understand the apprenticeship program and the role of the supply chain.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

This is completely new to me, so I have learnt about different processes, systems and a incite into the wider company.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

All dates for the year are placed in the diary where we meet regarding the supply chain apprenticeship. Our allocated tutors are always on hand to guide and support and everything is well structured and organised.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

Our tutors are always on hand to support, and continue to offer scope to expand our skill set and learn more about the business.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

High level of support and guidance that makes you feel that you can approach with any queries. They also have a buddy system that allows you to speak to apprentices that are in their final year of the apprenticeship.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Lots of opportunities within the business to network, meet other professionals and be part of STEM and other social groups.

Why?

They have the right work life balance, it is well structured but also my experience has helped me bring back my confidence and experience different opportunities that I would not have access to through other companies.
