The Overall Rating is the average of all the ratings given in each category. We take those individual ratings and combine them into one final score!
Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
I also balance this day to day work with university work which is usually 1 day a week.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
I feel the university side is slightly flawed. Before a lecture you are expected to complete a "pre work" task which involves learning about the module for the week. At times it feels the lectures are obsolete as the pre work covers everything the lecture covers and often in more detail too.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
- Learned to code in Javascript
- Learned to use docker
- Learned to work with jenkins and writing groovy scripts
- Learned to work with linux based VMs
- Developed my understanding of agile principles and teamworking
- Developed my public speaking abilities
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?
How much support do you receive from your employer?
I have a technical tutor (who discusses my university work and progress with me if I need help)
I have a line manager who sets me work and helps if I am stuck
I have a team leader who also helps if I am stuck
All in all I feel very well supported at Arm
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
I have a university skills coach who meets with me to discuss university progress.
Lecturers seem well educated and clearly have teaching and industry experience.
We have forums for asking questions and are always told to ask questions in lectures if need be.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
Recommendations & Advice
Would you recommend Arm to a friend?
Why?
The work is interesting.
The people are very nice, I have never had a bad boss or boss that I hate.
The culture is great too
