Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Variety of interest accounting/audit work and long manual tasks. A lot of use of excel to create and use testing matrices. Use of secure folders to extract data from invoices and other evidence of values to input in testing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Highly depends on what tasks you are given and how interesting your other team members are. There are many opportunities for having a social life in and outside of the job.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt accounting skills from the ground up. In addition, I have highly developed my communication and time management skills.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The apprenticeship starts well structured with regular training and contact, however, beyond the first year it feels as if you are fending for yourself a little for information and guidance around the training programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

They are very supporting in both the professional and training environment. They provide you with a good amount of study leave for your first attempt at the exams.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The training provider is very helpful and teach the content for your qualification well.

Some exams provide helpful knowledge. However, as a whole learning on the job is more helpful for getting an understanding of the work.

Why?
If you are interested in getting into the financial audit world, then I would recommend the NAO as they provide a lot of support and understanding. They are understanding of the distinction between when you are training for college and working on the audit.

Simply ask as many questions as you can. Everyone is super helpful and willing to give you advice and support.
