Lead the operation and performance of a complex utilities plant supporting large-scale paper manufacturing, including Gas Turbine, Steam Turbines, HRSG, water treatment, and Energy from Waste boiler.
Key Responsibilities and achievements.
• Lead the safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operation of the plant, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to operational targets.
• Direct fault identification, root cause analysis, and resolution to minimise downtime and improve plant reliability.
• Oversee and prioritise maintenance strategies, aligning resources with business-critical objectives and long-term asset performance.
• Authorise and manage safe isolation and handover of plant systems, maintaining strict safety and compliance standards.
• Plan and coordinate monthly and annual outages, optimising schedules to reduce operational disruption and cost.
• Manage and develop the Utilities Operations team, driving performance, and continuous improvement.
• Lead contractor relationships, ensuring delivery against performance, safety, and commercial expectations.
• Identify, justify, and deliver capital investment projects to enhance efficiency, reliability, and plant capability.
• Ensure full compliance with regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.
Plant includes:
30MWe Siemens SGT700 Gas Turbine, 75MWt AABORG HRSG, 10MWe ManTurbo MARC 2 Steam Turbine, 21.9MWt EfW Boiler, Water Treatment (RO/DAF), 30bar Natural Gas installation, Compressed air systems , Biogas Systems.

Before applying get familiar with, recycled materials in paper manufacturing, Environmental goals and energy efficiency. Emphasise safety. Mechanical or electrical knowledge & Problem-solving. PM11 runs 24/7 so must be flexible regarding working hours, and many roles require shift work.
