Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My full time role is creating a concept plan of what the future of site will look like. I look at all infrastructure capabilities and how they align with the programme. I also undertake a secondment to gain delivery experience on major infrastructure projects. This is working on a project from RIBA 2 - 6.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the new experiences and opportunities within my programme. Every day is different. due to the different placements i have been involved in i am able to network with so many different areas creating more career opportunities, growth in my development and overall project management experience.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt many project management skills and behaviours. I can confidently lead and participate in meetings sharing my opinions and perspectives based off experience. I am competent within many processes, tasks and actions set. I am now at a stage in my career where i am sharing my learning, supporting new starts and offering mentoring to new apprentices within the company.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The structure is organised. However there is always room for improvement. going into your next placement is a uneasy process, funding out earlier would have been more beneficial to interact with the new team and transition into the role more smoothly. I created a placement feedback sheet in a shared area so apprentices could advise on where to go. I would recommend this needs to be picked up again as it was really effective to understand where each apprentice would be suited to. Overall, it has been organised. I have time managed well with my university studies and placement work, communications have been effective and I have felt supported throughout.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I have received so much support from my placement manager and skills coach. My skills coach has given me so many development opportunities and my placement manager has made me into the Project Manager i am today providing me insight and direction, noticing my gaps/areas for improvement and supporting me to fill in these areas.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have received so much support from the programme. They have helped with direction and support on uncertainty when it comes to my professional interview and EPA period. They regularly check in with me every 12 weeks to ensure i am on track and offer any support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe my qualification has supported me in my role. There has been many instances within my career i have referred to models such as Monte Carlo analysis, Pareto, resource levelling/Smoothing techniques, EVM and much more where i have learnt in University yet applied my skills in work. This has helped me with my understanding.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many stretch activities you can get involved with. Some i have contributed towards are inducted 450 apprentices within the business, Golden Apple awards, Careers Fairs, Women in Engineering, STEM and much more!
