Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
I was responsible for managing the relationship with third-party companies who provide services to our customers. I was reviewing their performance in relation to contracted KPIs and SLAs. I was responsible for maintaining a governance to keep track of actions and issues we may have.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
I was given a lot of responsibility after the first month ended. For instance, I was responsible for talking to senior stakeholders and agreeing on certain targets. I was also leading on many calls.

I have learnt and developed numerous skills over the year of my placement. I have developed stakeholder management skills, relationship building skills, communication, teamwork, time management, presentation skills, project management and organisation skills.

I received loads of support and guidance from everyone in the business including my manager, the year in industry team, my mentor and my allocated graduate buddy.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
The atmosphere was great, the Leicester office is very casual and relaxed. I made lots of great friends.

I fully enjoyed my placement year and would happily do it all over again. I developed a passion for what I am doing.

My advice would be to be yourself when you apply, be honest - talk about what is it that makes Centrica attractive to you. Whether it may be CSR goals, diversity and inclusion goals or anything else - just be honest and passionate.
