Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

5/5
As a Tech Associate on the project management side of SAP, I support PMO work across large customer accounts, helping with project coordination, reporting, tracking actions, and supporting teams to keep delivery organised. My role gives me exposure to how major projects are run in a global technology business while developing my project management and communication skills.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

5/5
I really enjoy the programme because the people at SAP are very friendly, helpful, and supportive, which makes it a great environment to learn in. I have had a lot of exposure to real business work, valuable experience on large accounts, and plenty of learning opportunities, while also being able to apply what I learn at university directly to my role.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

5/5
I have developed a wide range of skills since starting the programme, both technical and professional. I gained my SAP Activate certification, which helped me understand SAP project delivery methods, and I have also built my knowledge of SAP S/4HANA and how it supports business processes and transformation projects. Alongside this, I have developed skills in project coordination, reporting, stakeholder communication, data analysis, problem-solving, and working confidently within large customer account teams.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

5/5
The programme is well organised and structured. I was introduced to my team early on and placed onto customer work in a safe and supportive environment, starting with shadowing, guidance from my buddy, and regular support from colleagues as I built my confidence.

How much support do you receive from your employer?

5/5
I receive a lot of support from SAP. My team, buddy, and wider colleagues are always approachable and willing to help, whether that is with customer work, understanding project processes, or developing my confidence. There is also a strong focus on learning and development, with guidance available when I need it and opportunities to ask questions, shadow others, and grow in the role.

How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

5/5
I receive strong support from my training provider when working towards my qualifications. I have bi-weekly workshops, weekly lectures, learning content to work through, and regular 1-to-1s with my coach whenever I need extra help. I also get protected time during my working week to complete my university learning, which makes it easier to balance work and study.

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

4/5
It has helped me build skills in working with data, understanding trends, and using analytical thinking, which supports tasks such as reporting, tracking progress, and presenting information clearly. The course also covers areas like project management and coding practices, which gives me a stronger understanding of both the technical and delivery side of the business.

Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

5/5
Yes, there are lots of extra-curricular activities to get involved in at SAP. There is a wide range of social and professional opportunities, including weekly golf, padel, football, Toastmasters, and networking events, which makes it easy to meet new people and get involved outside of day-to-day work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend SAP to a friend?

Yes

Why?

Yes, I would definitely recommend SAP to a friend because it is a supportive and welcoming place to start your career. The people are friendly and helpful, there are lots of opportunities to learn and gain experience, and you get exposure to real customer work while still being supported as you develop

What tips or advice would you give to others applying to SAP?

My advice would be to be yourself, show a genuine interest in technology and business, and be open to learning. SAP is a very supportive environment, so you do not need to know everything before joining, but it helps to show curiosity, a willingness to ask questions, and enthusiasm for getting involved in different opportunities
